We've had such a fun summer... ' Just wanted to share some photos....
We had a great reunion with the Shumway's just before the 4th of July Celebration in Taylor. The Bryces had put up a new flag pole in front of the house. The flag was raised that morning by all the Eagel Scout grandsons. Uncle Mark Lyman, who is a Colonel in the Air Force presented Grandfather with several medals he had been awarded from his service in the Navy during WWII, but never received.

Julia had a fashion show for all the younger girls... Being modest and showing your own style. We also enjoyed a quiet Sunday afternoon with Grandfather and Grandma on our own, driving to the cemetery and out to Shumway. It was good for John to hear family stories.

Then Kate and I enjoyed a few days in Pima-swimming in Grandma's pool and a day on the mountain with the cousins were some of the highlights.

Jessica, Kate, and I spent a few days in Denver with Lee as he worked. Miriam flew in the last day and was able to be with us. We drove down to Colorado Springs to see the Lymans and got a tour of the Air Force Academy where Uncle Mark works. We timed it just right as we were able to see the cadets practicing sky diving....We pulled right next to the landing strip. It was so cool so see them come down.

We drove home that weekend through Wyoming and were able to spend Saturday pulling a handcart and seeing Martin's Cove and Rock Creek Hollow. They are some of our favorite places...The director of the visitors center there is Mark Fenn's brother.

The cove is behind us to the right...

These are some photos that Miriam combined...above is looking into the cove (notice the same rock twice but you get the idea). Below is looking away from the cove out over the valley.

These are the statues of the young men who carried the saints across the Sweetwater River as they were entering the cove...it is a touching monument. (again notice the same sage brush...but you get the idea).

We've love visiting family this summer! 'Just wish we were closer to do it more often...Love you all! -Becky
